Jalapeno Poppers in the Making

I had a ton of jalapenos from this year's plants. So here's my first shot at making poppers. I found the recipe a few weeks ago on Kerry's blog. This shot was taken after I stuffed a cream cheese / monterey jack cheese mixture in the jaleps. My hands are still burning from doing this yesterday afternoon! Next, I dipped them in milk and coated them in breadcrumbs.

  1. Gloves are where it's at when handling hot peppers. My problem is that I always seem to manage to cut at least one of my glove fingers when cutting up large amounts of peppers.

  2. ooooh, yum! I didn't get any jalapenos off of my plants last season, but have high hopes this year. I love a good poppers and beer night. I've gotten the pepper oil onto areas you just don't want to, so I always wear surgical gloves now. For just a few peppers, it helps to keep a dish of olive oil to dip your fingers into as you work, but for a lot of peppers, gloves really help.

found you via gardenvoices. nice blog. I'll sit here and try not to be jealous of your location.
