Fungus on Avocado?

I think I have a fungus on my avocado. This took less than a week to occur. I haven't had time to look it up yet. I will be on gardenweb later tonight trying to find out what this is. The leaves are falling off after turning totally brown. The plant is in the same location it's always been and has been receiving the same amount of water. If it were lack of water, it would be turning yellow, then brown.

  1. One of mine has a similar problem and re; your Oleander (above) mine too has yellowing leaves. So many miles apart yet similar problems! I think the problem with my Oleander may just be down to our strange weather this year. First almost drought in the Spring and then flood conditions in the Summer!

  2. Have you had a look at the roots? I'm wondering if they are getting too much water. It's so easy to over water potted plants.

It looks like you have the plants in an area that wouldn't get much air circulation because of the visqueen over the lower portion of your screens, so your initial feelings re: fungus could also be correct.

One last thing - is that cypress mulch in yon pot?

    Good luck, D.
