I can't believe I am actually growing a tomato. They aren't diseased or bug ridden like usual! This variety called Patio or Container is on my front porch and is watered every other day by a drip irrigation system. It's doing well and is growing from the top of my favorite gardening pot, the strawberry pot.
Head up to the blue search bar at the top of the page and type (strawberry) to see all my other posts about the wonderful stuff I've had growing in this pot.
This is not an advertisement for the grower...I have no afflilation with them.
Danielle, That tomato looks great. I can see why you are so excited. I'm applauding you!
ReplyDeleteMine-which I just planted - has those little tiny ones starting to pop out. Can't wait to see how it looks when it turns red... keep us posted.

I have the same type of plant growing on my balcony here along the coast in SoCal. I had a one time invasion of cabbage worms that I was quickly able to pick off by hand. However, the fruit is about the size of a golf ball when it begins to turn ripe/red, and offers very little in the way of flavor. I suspect the temp gets to high during the day, low 80's, and forcing the fruit to ripen too soon. Any thoughts???
