I platend Grand Rapids Lettuce seeds today. I have no space in the garden, so I decided to plant them 2 inches from the rosemary and tomato plants. The more I hear about square foot gardening, the more I think I can pack the veggie garden with seeds. We'll see.
This variety of lettuce is supposed to be harvested in 45 days. I also sprinkled some seeds amongst the pepper plants, so I will have overlapping there, but I will just thin out any seeds that are too close.
Looks great! I completely understand the urge to cram in the veggies. Lettuce thinnings are yummy as microgreens, anyway!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Your site is AWESOME!!!!! Since you know so much about gardening and all...I'm wondering...do you think I could grow a small banana tree indoors? (Stark Bros has a planter one that I'm really eyeing.) BUT I live in Colorado, so indoors is the only option! Let me know what you think, if you don't mind!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you'd like to see my work...I bought a foreclosure during the summer of 2008...and wow...it had a TON of work to do on the lawn (as well as the inside). Take a peek at the lawn work, if you have a moment. :-) (You should be able to just click on my name to link to the post about my lawn.)
Hi again Danielle! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and answer the banana tree question. You are right...they need a lot of sunlight and getting that indoors in CO probably won't do the trick. I plan to continue to visit your blog. You are providing great info to others! (And I'm passing your blog info along to my FL friend!) :-) Julie
