I have found one reference that recommends &amp;quot;semi-ripe&amp;quot; tip cuttings taken in the summer and assisted with botom heat in preference to seed (scarification). &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;http://www.floridata.com/ref/D/delo_reg.cfm&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The rationale for the vegetative tip propagation seems valid because it is reported to overcome the juvenility (delayed flowering) associated with sexual / seed propgation, which is somewhat of a principal in plant physiology.  According to the post seen propagated poinciana can take up to 10 years to flower, although there is no time reported for vegetative cuttings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;p.s.
