I lived in the Canary Islands for some years and they are everywhere along the streets. Very strange seed pods, and very interesting. I have just recently moved back to the UK and have brought some seed pods back with me to hopefully germinate. Apparently you need to boil the seeds for a few minutes, or they could take up to 2-3 years to germinate on thier own. Jacaranda's are round and quite unique.
