Peach trees tend to begin much more fruit than they could possibly sustain through the growing season, so some fruit will fall from the tree after having developed for a month or so. This allows the tree to concentrate its resources on the remaining fruit, resulting in larger, tastier peaches. Some growers like to do additional thinning to remove any peaches that are growing closer than 4"-6" from each other. (This also helps prevent branches from becoming overloaded and breaking.)&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Your tree looks like it's in fantastic shape, so I think you're fine. Especially if it's a young tree or recent transplant, you should see more fruit with each additional year. The only thing would be if you're fertilizing, perhaps the tree is getting too much nitrogen, causing it to focus on leaves rather than fruit.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2932214561355159990/7972408797464591547/comments/default/4015740028676629064'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2932214561355159990/7972408797464591547/comments/default/4015740028676629064'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.daniellecopeland.com/2009/03/wind-has-taken-my-peaches.html?showComment=1239377880000#c4015740028676629064' title=''/><author><name>Andy</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img1.blogblog.com/img/blank.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.daniellecopeland.com/2009/03/wind-has-taken-my-peaches.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2932214561355159990.post-7972408797464591547' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2932214561355159990/posts/default/7972408797464591547' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1878548406'/></entry></feed>
